MoMA

Definitely one the highlights of my trip to NYC was visiting the Museum of Modern Art. Really amazing! Here's a shot of the floor near the entrance - it is done in tape! And it just got way better from there. GO TO MOMA!

Rain & Mountains

This is the view from Afton Mountain, outside Charlottesville, VA. I had been hoping for a sunny day with miles of mountains and lovely fall colours. But really, the bad weather and fog and rain really saturated everything and totally highlighted the landscape. SO glad the weather Gods didn't listen to me!

Mushroom

Found this HUGE mushroom at the base of tree at Bear Creek State Park, near Richmond, Virginia. It is ironic that I was searching out the last possible autumn forest colors and I end up with this one! It definitely did not have the same impact in color.

Stairs

Finally getting back into B&W photography. Here, I was hiding under the stairs, waiting for a big storm to pass. The aftermath of the storm at the beach was really beautiful. Pix of that to follow soon.

Avon, NC

We make it to the beach at least once a year. I particularly like the beaches that are deserted and quiet. This photo really appealed to me because 1) the empty seats captured the thing I like most at the beach and 2) the seat bars behind the backs lined up so perfectly with the waves - too cool!

Radio City Music Hall

I visited New York City recently - what a blast! This is one of my favorites of the trip - Radio City Music Hall, up close and personal!

Purple & White

Lavender in the public gardens in Brussels. Really lovely.

Indonesian Leaves

These were beautiful trees in Jakarta. The leaves are small and wispy but full at the same time. I decided to go with sepia - green seemed kind of predictable, B&W (while nice enough in a graphic/abstract way) also seemed "Been there. Done that." Things in Jakarta really are kind of sepia - old, smoky yet lush. I hope this captures that.

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty at sunset. I took this during a sunset cruise - there were only a few critical minutes to take the photo...I think I made it just in time!

The Chrysler Building

I am in love with the Chrysler Building! Every detail is amazing. Speaking of details, here's one taken last month from my hotel room in NYC on E. 42nd Street.

Love it!

Ripley's Ceiling

This is the ceiling of the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum in St. Augustine, Florida. The museum turned out to have many beautiful and ancient artifacts. What a surprise!

Spring Cat

This is Cheese, the cat. His favorite past time is to sit under the azaleas enjoying the spring weather in Richmond.

Crabree Falls, VA

This is the quintessential Shenandoah Valley photo, I'm sure. But honestly, the apples were beautiful! And there were so many of them! I'm glad I was able to get the mountains in the background in case anyone wondered where I really was!
I took this last September - you know we took home tons of apples!

The Garden

A sweet and simple shot of a quiet spot in the garden.

Valentine's Day Cupid!

Well, a day late for Valentine's Day but this really does seem to be related! I got this picture from the door of a church in Delft, Holland.
